Took my 2016 Jeep Wrangler to the dealership for a strange grinding noise when turning sharp corners, like when I'm pulling into a tight parking spot. They came back and said the rear differential is shot and quoted me nearly 9000 dirhams for a complete replacement including labor. That's almost a third of what the car is worth now. I find it hard to believe that a diff that still drives fine in a straight line and doesn't make noise except on turns needs a full replacement. I think I need a more advanced differential rebuild Dubai from a specialist who can actually open it up and replace just the worn spider gears or clutch packs instead of throwing the whole thing away. I found Dynostar's differential page and they mention rebuilding with quality parts which sounds way more reasonable. Has anyone here been told by a dealer that their diff was "done for" but a proper independent shop rebuilt it for half the price? Really trying not to get ripped off but also don't want to risk safety.
