Managing PPE for Temporary and Contract Construction Workers (16 อ่าน)
5 ต.ค. 2569 12:27
Temporary and contract workers often join construction projects with different levels of experience, training, and familiarity with site-specific hazards. Effective PPE management is therefore essential to maintain consistent safety standards from the first day on site. Employers and contractors should assess the tasks each worker will perform and provide suitable equipment based on identified risks.
A clear induction process should explain how to wear, adjust, inspect, clean, store, and replace PPE. Workers should also understand that PPE is the final layer of protection and must be used alongside safe working procedures, engineering controls, and proper supervision.
For personal protective equipment in construction, employers should maintain accurate records showing which equipment has been issued to each worker. Regular inspections can identify damaged helmets, worn gloves, defective harnesses, or unsuitable footwear before they create additional risks
Fit is another important consideration. Equipment should be available in appropriate sizes and adjusted correctly to ensure comfort without reducing protection. Supervisors should monitor PPE use throughout the project and address non-compliance promptly.
