When an Older Loved One Has Less Energy for Social Activities (5 อ่าน)

5 ต.ค. 2569 18:14

My grandfather used to look forward to visiting friends and attending small family gatherings, but recently he started turning down invitations because getting ready and arranging transportation felt like too much effort. He still enjoyed seeing people once he was there, so we knew it wasn't that he had lost interest in being social. We began talking about what might make those outings easier without putting pressure on him, and he said having someone help him prepare and accompany him would make a difference. While researching home care Oklahoma City, our family realized that support can sometimes be about helping someone stay connected to the activities and people they enjoy, not just helping with household chores. Has anyone else found ways to help an older family member stay socially active when getting out becomes more difficult?
