What is the maximum compatible hard drive size the JVC Everio GZ-MG230 can support for video recording?

My JVC Everio GZ-MG230 was acting up and not recognizing the hard drive I had just formatted, so I thought the camcorder was broken. It turns out there is a specific limit for drive compatibility and the file format needs to be FAT32, not NTFS.
