Finally realizing how packaging and automation work together (4 อ่าน)

I've been running a small warehouse operation in Ajman for a few years now and I'll admit I've always thought about packaging and automation as two completely separate things. Packaging was the stuff we put products in, automation was fancy machinery that big companies used. But lately I've been noticing how much time my team spends just on repetitive tasks sealing boxes, labeling, stacking and I started wondering if there's a middle ground where better packaging choices could actually make it easier to add some simple automation down the line. I was reading something the other day at https://khaleejarab.com/warehousing-automation-packaging-choices/ that talked about how the two are actually really connected, and it got me thinking that maybe I've been looking at this all wrong. If I standardize my box sizes and packaging materials now, it wouldn't just make my current workflow smoother, it would also mean that if I ever want to add something like a semi-automatic sealer or labeling machine, I'd already have the consistency those systems need to work properly. I'm not ready to go fully automated by any means, but I'm starting to think about packaging as an investment in future efficiency rather than just a cost. Anyone else here started with better packaging choices and later added automation, and found that the groundwork paid off?
